A review of accreditation standards for the occupational therapy profession in Australia 2012 is being undertaken.  The consultation document is available in the accreditation section of the website.   Responses are due no later than 5pm on 16 February 2013.

This period of consultation is now complete, and revised Accreditation Standards (December 2013) are available in the “Accreditation” section of this website.

Importantly, from 1 July 2012 in compliance with new legislation
(Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law) all
occupational therapists wanting to practise in Australia are required to
be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
(AHPRA) www.AHPRA.gov.au

Internationally-qualified occupational therapists who do not hold a
qualification accredited by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
(OTBA) are required to undertake the assessment process with the OTC.
